Thank you for your interest in Schools of Hope! Unfortunately, we recently experienced a sudden termination of our federal AmeriCorps grant funding. We are uncertain what this means for future programming and are exploring how we can continue to support tutoring in MMSD for the 2025-2026 school year. We will update our website as we have new information. Please reach out to egreene@schoolsofhope.org with any questions.

AmeriCorps is an Opportunity

Joining AmeriCorps is a way to put your idealism into action. As an AmeriCorps member with the Schools of Hope AmeriCorps Project, you will contribute to the academic success of our community’s children while developing and using your own professional skills.

AmeriCorps is an Experience

AmeriCorps is a real-life education and work experience wrapped into one. As a member, you will learn teamwork, leadership, responsibility and other essential skills that will help you for the rest of your life. You will gain the personal satisfaction of taking on challenges and seeing results.

AmeriCorps Offers Tangible Benefits

Schools of Hope AmeriCorps members receive student loan deferment, a living allowance, professional training, and for full-time members, health insurance. After you complete your term of service, you will also receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award to help pay for college, graduate school, or vocational training or to repay student loans. AmeriCorps members 55 or older can transfer their education award to a child or grandchild.

This program is available to all, without regard to race, color, national origin, disability, age, sex, political affiliation, or religion.
